The BIG, BAD,.....Long John Silver?

Cody and Garrett play with K-nex. It's just their thing. Garrett decides what he wants and what he wants it to do and then Cody finds a way to make it happen. This is their latest, greatest invention. When they gave it it's test run, Garrett was going on and on about how awesome it was so Cody suggested he name it. Garrett decided to call it, "Long John Silver" how awesome is that! :P

A Fun Weekend In Kanas part 1

We went to visit a friend in Kansas this past weekend. She has a nice pool that we all enjoyed swimming in. The kids really loved it. And of course we all enjoyed hanging out with Kim too. We found an awesome little meat shop and bought some incredible steaks to grill up. YUM!!! Hopefully we will be able to go visit again before Garrett has to go back to NC.

A craft project with lots of "Bling"

The week after Garrett got here I took the kids to Hobby Lobby for some more craft supplies(like we were lacking in that dept). We came home with at least 20 bags of pipe cleaners and a huge sack of pom pom things. So far we have made cars, flowers, and rings with them. Took pictures of everyone's rings except mine, not sure what happened to it.

Bethany must have pased it on.

Bethany LOVES shoes, even as a baby she did.

I think she passed her love on to Lily. Lily loves to play with Bethany's shoes, or anyone else' she can get a hold of. Here she is a couple of weeks ago with Nanny's sandals.

Enjoy!

These pics were all taken before Garrett got here so they are a few weeks old.

This picture(above) is amazing! Know why? My living room is actually CLEAN!!!
Check out those long legs!!!

Busy, busy, busy!!!

Life is so interesting with 3 kids running (or crawling) around! On the upside I've lost about 3 pounds since Garrett got here and Lily started moving :) I've made it a goal to get back to my ideal weight by the end of July. That means I need to loose 14lbs. Started today by going to the gym (I biked 11 miles in 30 min), and then to Sam's to get some good-for-me snacks like fruit, yogurt, cheerios, & Special K bars.

Cody is wanting to lose some weight too so we are trying to change our food habits. We went walking after work as a family last week and plan to do so again tonight. Wish us luck!

Tuesday evening we went to Cody's softball game which is always fun. The kids got to play with Rylee while we were there since his Daddy plays on the team too.

Thursday the kids and I met Stacey and Rylee at a sprinkler park in Harrah. I took pics when I could. Bethany is a VERY prissy little girl! You should watch her sometime, it's hilarious. Needless to say she was too prissy to get wet at all for about an hour. and only started putting her feet in the sprinklers a few min before we left. Garrett had a blast! After that we went back to Rylee's and the kids played for a couple hours before we finally made it home.

Saturday morning the kids and I went grocery shopping at the Wal Mart and after lunch Cody worked putting trim around one of the windows in the kids playroom. Later we all went to Crest and bought stuff for a steak dinner and Cody grilled them up(sooo good!), then we watched a movie with the kids before bed. Cody and I watched 2 movies we had rented after they went to sleep so it was a late night.

Sunday right after lunch Cody and I took the kids back to the sprinkler park and stayed for about an hr before heading to Sonic for drinks and snacks. Then it was Lowes, Bass Pro Shops, and Wal Mart before heading back to the house and watching another kid movie. I think we wore the kids out and we definitely wore me out!

Today, has been busy too but I already covered that. Right now Garrett and Bethany are watching "Beauty and the Beast", Garrett picked it out. They had pizza bites for lunch but were still hungry so I asked Garrett if he wanted cottage cheese and he wanted to try it before I gave him a bowl of it. He had a bite and said, "Yummmm! Tastes like cow!" I guess cow is good because it took him less than a min to clean out his bowl.

I have some pics to share and am planning on making some posts with them later today. I have to go put Lily down for a nap now though.

Speaking of Lily, she started pulling up on stuff Saturday. She is only "standing" on her knees so far though, she isn't sturdy enough to try for her feet yet.

Leaps and bounds

Lily has been growing like crazy and learning how to do new things left and right. A couple of weeks ago she had her 6mo well-baby check-up. Dr said she's growing and developing very well. Her height is in the 95-97th percentile and her weight is in the 75-90th percentile. I think it's safe to say she'll be tall like Cody. :P

A week ago today(this past Monday) she started crawling across the living room. The next day she started getting into a sitting position by herself. The day after that she woke me up by saying "dadadada". Now she crawls from one room to another trying to follow her brother and sister. Last night she said "mamama" but I haven't heard her try it again yet :(

She's been eating baby finger food and big people food a little. I can't get her to eat regular baby food(never could)but her Dr said it's ok to just try the other stuff. She seems to really enjoy sitting at the table with all of us at dinner.

A friend and I drove to Dallas on Friday morning to pick up Garrett. Nanny came to our house and watched the girls so they wouldn't have to come. We didn't tell Bethany that Garrett was coming and she was very happy to see him. They have been unseperable, constantly playing, running, yelling, laughing, and jumping. Just listening to them is wearing me out!

Our camera has been slowly croaking and it's so frustrating to use now that I mostly don't. Only about 1 in 10(maybe) pictures turns out and getting good pics of 3 kids is already difficult. I do have a few pictures still on the camera that I need to put onto the computer but I doubt there will be many new ones after that unless we get a new camera. Garrett will only be here for a few weeks this year :( so I hope we do get one so that I can have pictures of him and his sisters together.

Cody has been upping his game lately and helping out alot it has been very nice. The kids LOVE spending time with him and telling him stuff. Last night Cody and Garrett decided to start building a monster truck out of k'nex, while they were brainstorming design ideas (I think) they decided to use 8 wheels. Then Garrett announced "Did you know 8-wheeled monster trucks bring people good luck?"

My garden has been a little disappointing this year. Something has been killing my yellow squash plants, which is my favorite summer veggie, and now there is only one plant left. The strawberries did great but the crop is over until it gets a little cooler and then I think this variety will produce a second crop. The tomatoes look like they might do ok but they aren't turning yet. My asparagus didn't do too well. I had planned to give them away and plant a bunch of basil so I can make Pesto but no one had anywhere to put them so they are still in the ground and my 20 or so baby basils are withering in their peat pots.

I've washed 4 loads of laundry in the past 2 days and another I need to throw in the washer. I already had 2+ loads clean and waiting to be folded. I think folding laundry is my least favorite household chore with emptying the litter box as a possible exception. Guess I'd better suck it up and get to it!
