July 07

Bethany has her second b-day coming up in a few weeks. It makes me say things like "Look how pretty she's getting.", "I can't believe how big she is!", "I miss her being little.", and " I don't want her to grow up."

It also makes me go look at her baby pics. Which gave me an idea.

I am going to be posting some of my favorite pics of Bethany in the next few weeks, one month at a time. This set is from July of 2007. Hope you like them :)

I wanted to post these pics yesterday but didn't. There is a variety here so I shall explain them. Monday Cody & I bought some of those baby doll bottles for Bethany. The ones where the juice or milk inside looks like it's disappearing when you turn it upside down. So yesterday when I watched Riley for a couple of hours they were trying to drink out of them.

This past weekend we were quite busy. We went to Jennings on Friday after Cody got off work. Bubba and his family were camping at a lake a few min from Cody's Mom's house so we went to visit them on Saturday morning. The area they camped in is called Frog Rock. It's named for this rock you can see why.

Later on Saturday we got together with a lot of John & Debbie's friends and a few of ours and drove to an Amish community outside of Tulsa. An Amish woman there runs a kitchen in her basement and has the most wonderful food served in big bowels at your table. As much as you can eat, it's like Thanksgiving. And the food is wonderful!

Sunday we went to a different lake where Cody's
Dad and his side of the family was camping, or more like RVing, which I don't consider to be real camping. It was nice to see all of them. Cody's grandma recently found out she has lung cancer. Her treatments really appear to be beating her up which was sad to see. I really like her. I hope she will be around long enough for my kids to remember her.

On a happier note and speaking of my kids, we are leaving for NC in less than 3 weeks to pick up Garrett. We are going to take a week long vacation in the state and I'm really looking forward to that. We are taking the kids to the beach for a few days then coming back to where my family lives and staying there for a day or two so we can visit them.

Bethany has turned into quite the girly girl. She loves shoes and accessories. She has long conversations on her phones and mine when she can get it. She likes to feed her babies, give them bottles, and cover them up with her little face blanket. She also likes her earings,...which became a problem when she started taking them out over the weekend and lost one of them. I need to find a kind of earing she can't take out but won't tear her ear up if she tries to take it out. The ones she took out were the ones they use to pierce the ears with and had locking backs.

Yesterday we were out with Stacey and Rylee and we went to a feed store to see the baby animals. She loved looking at the chicks but she stuck her finger into the rabbit cage and one bit her finger pretty good. Her finger is so small that in comparison the bit is deep and big. I have been putting stuff on it and am hoping it won't become infected.

I think that's about it for now. I'll try to do better on my posting frequency. Have a great week!

I'm supposed to go to the park on base with Stacey & Riley and Sarah and her kids. Sarah's littlest, Jacob, had shots yesterday. Last time he had an allergic reaction to them and ended up in the hospital so it depends on if he did ok this time if she'll be able to make it. I really hope he did good. We might go to the gym as well. They have a glass enclosed play area for kids surrounded by equipment for the Moms.

I bought a pool for the kids to use this Summer and I'm wanting to set it up in the backyard today. It's supposed to be very nice all week so I'm hoping to use it tomorrow. It is 18" tall and 8' across. Big enough for me to sit in too :)

I just called Stacey and woke her up (sorry Stacey). She's going to come over and help me set the pool up before we do the other stuff. I'm going to buy her Starbucks since I woke her up.

Hope everyone has a good day!

I'm back!

Sorry it has taken me so long to post.

Cody, Bethany, & I have been sick for the past week. We are still not completely over it but for the most part we are so today Cody is back at work,.....I'm cleaning house,....and Bethany,....... Well Bethany is something else.

She has been turning one of my lamps on and of all morning despite the fact she gets in trouble every time she touches it. For now she has given up on it and is watching Alden and taking my stallion bookends off my sofa table and trying to play with them. (They are something else she's not allowed to touch since my wonderful sister gave them to me and I LOVE them.)

Yesterday we went to the zoo. It was perfect weather, low 70's and very little wind. We took a picnic, camera, and the BIG stroller and had a blast. But I forgot to take pics :( I exercised self control and didn't et any cotton candy which is a weakness of mine so I was proud of myself.

Saturday we bought a GPS which I imagine I will use constantly since I don't have a clue how to get around in OKC. It will come in handy for things like garage saleing, finding consignment stores, restaurants, and,....well you get it right? Normally I don't go anywhere without Cody or my friend Stacey but now,....... Speaking of restaurants we went to On The Border before we bought our GPS. They have really changed up their menu and most things seem to be cheaper and with more of a healthy emphasis. We ordered Guacamole Live which means they make it fresh at your table and it was sooo good. (I paid close attention while they made it and made it myself on Sunday with wonderbar results) After we got the GPS we had to test it out, of course, so we programed it to head to the nearest Starbucks. I decided to try something new and boy was I ever glad I did. I got a

Cinnamon Dolce Latte | Starbucks Coffee Company
flavors of sweet cinnamon, butter and brown sugar, combined with our signature Espresso Roast.

It tasted like a cinnamon bun in a cup,.....it was VERY good.

I want one right now but am settling for my home brewed coffee in a giant cup

I have to go clean now,....it's just a matter of where to start. You can prob imagine what a house looks like after the big people have been sick for a week and a little girl and 2 cats have been running free,....... YIKES!

Wish me luck!

I'm sick. :(

It's no fun.

Bethany is sick too.

I hope it doesn't last very long. My friend Stacey had it first and she said it lasted about a week.

I don't like it when my kids are sick, it makes me sad.

What a morning

"It's raining! It's pouring! The old man is snoring!"

Well maybe not the last part but it's raining again! At this rate I won't be able to work in my garden till the weeds are a foot tall.

The LIST:
hairbrush
deodorant
travel-size deodorant
nail clippers
comb
another deodorant
lip gloss

The above(except for the last one) is a list of things that Bethany threw into the toilet this morning while I was trying to clean the shower. It's the first time she's ever done that but I have a sinking feeling it won't be the last :(
The lip gloss she opened and was "cleaning" the tub with so it had to go in the trash along with most of the other stuff listed. I gave up on cleaning the bathroom until nap time.

My ear was hurting pretty bad last night and I felt dizzy throughout the day yesterday so I canceled my babysitting for today. Thankfully though I feel better so far.

My friend Sarah is supposed to bring her 3 kids over tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to that. Haven't seen her in soo long!

I have plans to thoroughly clean house today if Bethany cooperates, HAHA like that's going to happen! But still I plan to try. I am trying a new cleaning product, Magic Erasers, that Stacey has been raving about for a few months so I hope they're as good as she claims :0

Cody actually loaded up the dishwasher for me last night, I am happy about that. I had to rearrange everything in it this morning before I started it and add a few more dishes. I think in the almost 3 years we've been together he's prob only loaded the dishwasher himself MAYBE 5 times. I was very thankful for his efforts. Maybe if I go on about how much I liked it he'll do it again?

I will leave you with a list of my plans for the day and if anyone wants to help me finish it you are more than welcome to come do so :) Actually I would LOVE to see you anyways even if you just sit on your rear and eat chocolate while I clean, you just have to talk to me ok?

Dishes, Laundry, Sweep, Mop, finish cleaning shower, wash mirrors( and maybe windows?), give Bethany a bath, mop up floor after said bath, clean kids room, wish I had the energy to clean my room, clean out entry, debate myself on whether to have a yard sale or just take everything to goodwill, eat, slice 4 deals of strawberry's and put in freezer, decide what to make or dinner, I think that might be all?

Oh my it's gonna be a busy day! Hope your's isn't as full as mine :)

Pics of Bethany & Riley at the park yesterday. If you click on the pics they'll get bigger and much easier to see.

Hurray for Parks!

So today is the first day in over a week that it's not raining. That is it's not supposed to rain until after 3PM, which for now is close enough to not raining. I decided the best way to take advantage of the non wetness is to take Bethany to one of the parks on base. My friend Stacey and her son Riley are going to come with us. I'm looking forward to being out of the house!

I wanted to invite my friend Sarah to come along and bring her 3 kids but when I called to ask her she said she was already meeting a friend at a different park so I shall have to wait to see her. :(
Sarah and I used to live in the same appt complex in Norman but she has been in Fl for several months(her husband is in the Air Force) and I haven't seen her since she's been back in OK. I really want to see her.

I will try to remember to bring my camera and take pics today.

Ya'll have a good one!

Ideas please

Hello!

I am looking for something. Something only YOU can give me. I want ideas. What subjects would you like me to tell you about? My garden, house, family, friends, what crazy dreams I have,.....or how a vitamin just won't come up when you are puking(I found out yesterday), my pregnancy, what? Just about anything is up for grabs, I'm a pretty open person. Leave me a comment with your ideas.

For now I'm going to tell you a story. A true story that happened not too long ago. Last week in fact.

One day last week, just after Cody exited the bathroom, I noticed a TERRIBLE smell so I went to tell him he should have used the air freshener when he was done. He responded with "It's not that bad is it?" and started walking towards the bathroom to see(smell) for himself. Just when we both reached the hallway Bethany, who was walking from the other end of the hall, reached the bathroom door. She stopped dead in her tracks, pointed into the bathroom and said " EEEWWWWW" It was great! Cody about fell over he was laughing so hard.

And that is just one example of how my kids make my day just about every day.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

This is my wonderful Husband, Cody

My amazing son, Garrett (he has super powers you know)

My beautiful daughter, Bethany (AKA Smiley)

Hi whomever you are!
This is my first ever blog. I doubt anyone who doesn't know me will ever read this but just in case,....

My name is Sarah. I live in OK with my little family. I stay home and watch the kids and occasionally babysit for a friend.

I have a wonderful husband named Cody. We have been married for a little over a year and a half. Cody is an electrical engineer, he loves his job so much he says it's his hobby. He loves us more though.

Cody and I have a beautiful daughter, Bethany, who will be 2 in July. She is alot of fun and tries to copy everything Daddy says and does, scary I know :)

I have a son named Garrett from my previous marriage. Garrett is 4 and will be 5 in November.
He is amazing and very bright. He spends about half his time with us and half with his Dad in NC.
He loves is sister and calls her " Baby Bethany".

Cody and I are currently expecting our 2nd child together. I am 11 weeks along, and just felt my uterus last night for the first time. I was excited about that! The baby is supposed to arrive on Garrett's b-day although I seriously doubt it will arrive exactly on time. I should start showing soon which I'm actually looking forward to because I bought some new maternity clothes that are much prettier than my previous ones.

Ohh and be warned I tend to ramble a bit when I write.

I plan to post quite often. I am going to do alot of posts about my kids(of course), about things that have happened in the past few years, and about things I hope will happen in the future. Of course if anything exciting happens in the present it will also show up here. If I can figure out how to do it there will also be alot of pics.

That's all for now folks!!!

PS
I think I figured the pics out :)
