Leaps and bounds

Lily has been growing like crazy and learning how to do new things left and right. A couple of weeks ago she had her 6mo well-baby check-up. Dr said she's growing and developing very well. Her height is in the 95-97th percentile and her weight is in the 75-90th percentile. I think it's safe to say she'll be tall like Cody. :P

A week ago today(this past Monday) she started crawling across the living room. The next day she started getting into a sitting position by herself. The day after that she woke me up by saying "dadadada". Now she crawls from one room to another trying to follow her brother and sister. Last night she said "mamama" but I haven't heard her try it again yet :(

She's been eating baby finger food and big people food a little. I can't get her to eat regular baby food(never could)but her Dr said it's ok to just try the other stuff. She seems to really enjoy sitting at the table with all of us at dinner.

A friend and I drove to Dallas on Friday morning to pick up Garrett. Nanny came to our house and watched the girls so they wouldn't have to come. We didn't tell Bethany that Garrett was coming and she was very happy to see him. They have been unseperable, constantly playing, running, yelling, laughing, and jumping. Just listening to them is wearing me out!

Our camera has been slowly croaking and it's so frustrating to use now that I mostly don't. Only about 1 in 10(maybe) pictures turns out and getting good pics of 3 kids is already difficult. I do have a few pictures still on the camera that I need to put onto the computer but I doubt there will be many new ones after that unless we get a new camera. Garrett will only be here for a few weeks this year :( so I hope we do get one so that I can have pictures of him and his sisters together.

Cody has been upping his game lately and helping out alot it has been very nice. The kids LOVE spending time with him and telling him stuff. Last night Cody and Garrett decided to start building a monster truck out of k'nex, while they were brainstorming design ideas (I think) they decided to use 8 wheels. Then Garrett announced "Did you know 8-wheeled monster trucks bring people good luck?"

My garden has been a little disappointing this year. Something has been killing my yellow squash plants, which is my favorite summer veggie, and now there is only one plant left. The strawberries did great but the crop is over until it gets a little cooler and then I think this variety will produce a second crop. The tomatoes look like they might do ok but they aren't turning yet. My asparagus didn't do too well. I had planned to give them away and plant a bunch of basil so I can make Pesto but no one had anywhere to put them so they are still in the ground and my 20 or so baby basils are withering in their peat pots.

I've washed 4 loads of laundry in the past 2 days and another I need to throw in the washer. I already had 2+ loads clean and waiting to be folded. I think folding laundry is my least favorite household chore with emptying the litter box as a possible exception. Guess I'd better suck it up and get to it!

  1. Nice update, and yes, with five people in the house, you'd better teach Bethany how to fold some clothes!

Glad to hear things are going well.
