I was talking to Garrett's Dad the other day and had him ask Garrett if he remembered what we were going to name his new baby sister(Lily). Garrett said "Daisy". Hehe,..... at least he got the flower part right. :)
Garrett has been wanting to name her Stephanie ever since we found out she's a girl. Sorry baby but that just isn't going to happen. We already have one of those in the family anyways.
Garrett had an accident on the trampoline at his Dad's the other day and they believe he may have fractured his wrist. He has to wear a sling/splint/wrap thing for awhile until it doesn't hurt him anymore.
Bethany has been doing excellent with her potty training. No pee pee accidents in the past 2 days,...her overnight diaper was even dry this morning! We are soo proud of her for picking it up so quickly.
Bethany is picking up new words/phrases left and right. She can count to 9 already. She likes to annoy the cats, pretend to sleep/snore, play baby doll, read books, tickle people, watch Bambi, unload the dishwasher, "boing" on the bed(while holding hands with Mommy or Daddy), eat grapes(greeps or beeps), play outside, swing/slide, get her nails done, and of course she imitates everything Daddy says or does. The list does go on but I don't want to bore you. :)
The pregnacy is going ok. 31 1/2 weeks along now. I don't think my medication is strong enough. For the past few days I have been having quite a few contractions unless I am sitting still. But it is impossible to sit still when there is a house and a 2yr old to care for. Even though she is an impossibly easy 2 yr old who never really gets into anything.
I have most everything I need for the baby thanks to her being a girl and still having all of Bethany's baby stuff. There are still a few things left on my list to get though, and quite a few things left to do before she arrives. Mostly things to make it easier for the first few weeks after we come home. Like having extra food in the freezer and stocking up on things like toilet paper, diapers, wipes, and stuff so I will have less to go buy for awhile.
Cody is doing good. He quit dipping almost 4 weeks ago. I'm so proud of him for that. I know it's a really hard thing to do esp. after having dipped for 11 or 12 years.
I have been organizing everything thing I can get my hands on for over a week now. LOL,...you wouldn't believe if I told you some of what I've organized. I just have the urge to get everything right before the baby gets here. I still have some specific areas I need to tackle though like the 3rd bedroom which is now being used as a storage room of sorts. Later on after we get carpet in there it will become the girls room and Garrett will have his own room. Lily will stay in our room until she's 6 months old though so we have till then before we need it.
Cody and I are planning on doing several minor improvements to the house in the next few months. Mostly paint, carpet, a sink cabinet in the bathroom to repace our pedistle sink and new hardware throughout the house. I'm excited to see things start looking more updated and fresh.
I've rambled on enough for one day. Hope you enjoyed it!

Date night Baby!
Cody and I had our 2nd wedding anniversary last Wed. We decided since it was the middle of the week not to do anything for it. Saturday Cody started acting a little funny so I thought something must be up, I was very surprised by what he had planned though.
About 3pm on Sat someone knocked on our door. Cody went to get it and it was his Mom. She had driven 2 hrs to come babysit so he could take me out. He'd planned it without me finding out :)
He told me to go get ready we were going out for our anniversary.
We went to Bricktown and rode the water taxi(the first time for both of us), then we walked around a little and went to Abuelo's for dinner, yum! After dinner we walked a little more and people watched a bit before going to Dueling Piano's to see the show. We left a little early and rode the water taxi again, it was dark this time, and then we went back to the car and drove to get coffee and then home.
I wish we could have taken pictures but I'm not one of those people who carries a camera on dates. I had fun and really enjoyed spending the time away from home and with Cody just doing what we wanted to. It had been a really long time since we'd done anything more than going to dinner.

A catchup post

Hi there!
It's been quite a while since I posted anything so if I can remember everything that has been going on, I'll get everyone caught up.
I'd been on bed rest for about 3 weeks until the Dr took me off of it last Wed. That wasn't any fun at all. My MIL came down 3x's for a couple of days and helped out with the housework which was a big relief. I'm still supposed to watch it and not do too much so hopefully I will learn my limits quickly.
From what I can tell on the phone Garrett is doing ok at his Dads. We all miss him like crazy though. He talks some on the phone but being an active 4 yr old he doesn't stay on long. He does like to talk to Bethany though. She can actually have a short phone conversation now.
Bethany has been doing great except for missing Garrett. She is still saying "Garrett where are you? where did you go?" and " I want Garrett" when we go outside or to Nanny and Papa's and sometimes in the car or when I lay her down for naps or night time. It makes Cody and I both very sad to hear her do that. One morning she woke up crying(which is something she never does) and asking for him.
On a happier note she is talking alot more, saying full sentences, and asking for what she wants. She's potty training too and doing very well. She goes pee in her toilet 5-6 times a day and usually tells me when she wants to go. We've only been working on it for maybe 3 weeks now. I think she just does it for the 2 skittles she gets every time she goes but it works so,...
Today Bethany had her 2yr well baby checkup and shots. The Dr says she is doing really good development wise and everything. She didn't like the shots one bit though, there were 3 of them. She laid down fine for them but after she got the first one she said owww and started crying (kinda quiet not screaming like a baby) and she looked sooo sad like she couldn't believe we were doing this to her. For an hour afterwards every 2-5 min she would say owww and whine a bit and she was so sad she wouldn't even eat the sucker the Dr gave her. Her legs still are hurting her but not as bad, she had some Motrin when we got home. She thinks the little bandaids they put on her are stickers.
Cody is doing good too. He's trying to quit dipping and I'm hopefull that it will work this time. He's had a lot going on at work lately but the overtime makes for nice checks. Yesterday we went fishing together in Jennings on Lagoon Creek, it was probably the last time I'll be able to go before the baby getts here. I didn't catch anything but we saw a TON of fish jumping out of the water just far enough out into the creek that we would have needed a boat to catch them. We'll have to get one, maybe next year.
I had told Cody that I wanted a fish to eat and after we got back to his parents house (I was worn out), he went down to one of their ponds and fished 2 hours till he caught a little bass and he brought it up to the house, cleaned it, fried it up, and served it to me. It was really sweet of him and I was so happy he did that for me. Our 2 yr wedding aniversary is comming up in a couple of weeks. I don't know what the plans are yet but I'm looking forward to whatever they are gonna be.
Cody's Grandma, Lillian, passed away almost 2 weeks ago, she had cancer. She was 76. She was a spunky gal and you'd never forget her if you had met her, we are going to miss her alot. We are naming the baby after her, Lillian Kate Potts will be her name. We'll probably call her Lilly. I just wish she'd been able to meet her great-Grandma.
I've been trying to teach Bethany that we are going to have a baby. Last night at Nanny's we asked her where the baby was, she ran over to Cody and looked under his shirt. It was hillarious! I think she is geting baby and tummy mixed up, she'll pat her own tummy and say baby too.
Hope you all have a great week! Till next time!

Bethany's b-day party
Wednesday, August 5, 2009
this pregnacy has been fun lately, NOT!!!!
So after Bethany's B-day party last Saturday I noticed some light spotting. So I called my Dr. They said it was probably no big deal and to wait and see if it got any worse. Well it started getting a little worse and I was having some light contractions too so we decided to head into Tulsa and go to the hospital to have it checked out.
We got to the hospital about 1am and the admitted me to labor and delivery right away and monitored me for 2+ hours. I was having mild contractions every 3 min for over an hour and then I had a much bigger one that hurt. After that the contractions pretty much went away, weird huh? They decided to send me home with a few restrictions and told me to make an appt with my Dr ASAP. So I go back to Cody's parent's house and we get there about 4am.
I spotted off and on for the next couple of days until my Dr Apt on Tuesday. The Dr said everything looked fine but wanted me to go to the hospital for an ultrasound because my placenta is lower than it should be and I have an increased risk of it detaching. (We've know this for at least a month.)
I went to the hospital with Cody and kids in tow and waited for all of my paperwork and stuff to be processed and for the ultrasound lady to arrive. That took 2 hours. The kids hadn't had naps and they were restless but finally about 4pm Sponge Bob came on and the ultrasound happened and I thought we were done. (This whole time I'd been hooked up to the machine that monitors the baby's heart rate and the contractions, ect. The nurse had the straps WaY too tight and they hurt me. The baby wouldn't stay in one place so they kept loosing the heart beat and had to come in and resdjust everything several times) The nurse came in the room I thought to release me but instead she took my blood and said we would have to wait about 1/2 and hour for the results to get back. So we wait more. She finally comes back and says that my D? count is high which means that my clotting mechanisms are working like I'm bleeding somewhere. I have to stay overnight and have my blood drawn at 10:30pm & 6am. We were completely unprepared for that possibility and had a moments confusion deciding what to do with the kids and stuff.
We decided to have Nanny watch the kids and Cody would come back to the hospital and stay with me after she arrived at the house. So we did that. Cody got the kids dinner on the way home and I waited imaptiently for him to get back. My Dr came in and said that he decided that my placenta had indead detatched in a very small area causing a little bleeding behind it and that he was watching me to see if it was still bleeing or if it was starting to heal itself. Luckily it seems that the bleeding has stopped and my counts got lower with each blood test :) I got to go home about 9ish this morning.
I have to be on bedrest for a week, until my next dr appt, and let my body try to heal itself. At my appt they will decide if I need to cuntinue to stay longer on bedrest or not. I hope not but I do want the baby to be safe and have every chance so we will see what happens.
Cody's Mom is staying with us until tomorrow after Cody gets off work and then she will go home. Cody is taking Garrett to Chuckie Cheeses on Friday. Saturday he will be driving Garrett to the airport in Dallas to meet his Dad and Garrett will fly back to NC with him :(
I was already sad he is leaving but now I'm even sadder because I can't go to send him off.
